After WNAAC's March 20th Annual Meeting is over, the Chapter's Executive Committee is going to lead CSCDHH's Silent Games at 7 p.m. As a way to promote the chapter's name and visibility in the deaf community and to educate Washington's community. We welcome any NTID alumni or Friends to stay and participate in the event. The more deafies we have the better. The event is free to deaf people. What we'll be doing is leading different ASL games to teach the hearing community, who is learning ASL. Michael have been to several Silent games in the past and local deaf leaders have lead the event, he was always impressed.
Also, CSCDHH is hosting Tuesday Night workshops. Every Tuesday, there's a workshop lead by different people in the community, it can be any subject and something that you feel the community could benefit from. Such as doing your taxes, CPR, SSI questions, dealing with depression etc. Please see the link for more info. CSCDHH Community Workshops. I'll be doing one on April 13th, about Multiple Chemical Sensitivity. It's about the daily onslaught by chemicals on a person and the effects of such. I'll also be talking about how to live a more natural lifestyle.
If you want to sign up and lead an event, anything you think the community can benefit from. The workshops are managed by CSCDHH's Program Coordinator: Advocacy, Information and Referral (AIR) and NTID Alumni Chad A. Ludwig (SVP '91), who can be contacted at cludwig@cscdhh.org. We should make a note of the workshop nights the NTID Alumni lead in, to come and support. Bring friends, to connect and network. I would be more than happy to assist anyone who needs help in leading an event. Workshops lead by NTID Alumni will be posted on our WNAAC website for easy tracking.
If anyone wants to do a Tuesday Night workshop at CSCDHH, I'll also post a list of Alumni who volunteered so we can track this sort of thing via the website.
